Active Channels
Active channels are where members earn credits. The bot only tracks messages and fires rewards in channels you've added to this list.
Limiting rewards to specific channels keeps the economy focused on real conversation — bot command spam and announcement channels shouldn't be earning people credits.
Commands
/active-channels view — list all active channels (no permission required)
/active-channels add #channel — add a channel
/active-channels remove #channel — remove a channel
Limits:
- Free: up to 10 active channels
- Premium: unlimited
What Happens in an Active Channel
When a member sends a message:
- The bot checks if the user is blacklisted or opted out
- If eligible, the bot rolls for rewards based on your drop rates:
- Common, Epic, or Legendary message reward
- Chat drop event (trivia question)
- Chat flurry event
- Daily credits are counted toward the member's daily cap
Quests that involve sending messages also only count messages in active channels.
Bot Permissions Required
The bot needs View Channel, Read Message History, and Send Messages in each active channel. The bot checks for these permissions when you run /active-channels add and will notify you if they're missing.
Choosing Channels
Add channels where you want to reward genuine conversation — typically general chat, off-topic, or topic-specific discussion channels.
Avoid adding:
- Bot command channels (people spam commands, not conversation)
- Staff-only channels
- Announcement channels (one-way traffic)
Start with one or two channels and expand as you get a feel for the rewards frequency.
Free servers can have up to 10 active channels. Premium servers get unlimited channels. See Premium.
