Chat Flurries
Chat flurries are short bursts where reward spawn rates are temporarily multiplied. During a flurry, every message has a much higher chance of triggering a reward. At the end, the bot posts a summary of total credits earned and who earned the most.
They're most useful for waking up a quiet channel or kicking off a server event — a flurry immediately drives activity and gives members something to compete over.
Two Types of Flurries
Automatic Flurries
Triggered randomly when a member's message rolls against the chat-flurries drop rate.
- Duration: 10–15 seconds
- Spawn rate boost: 10–25× (randomized)
- No credits multiplier — just more frequent reward drops
Manual Flurries (Admin)
Started on demand with /spawn chat-flurry. More control over parameters.
/spawn chat-flurry [drop_rates_multiplier] [credits_multiplier] [duration]
| Parameter | Free | Premium |
|---|---|---|
drop_rates_multiplier | up to 3× | up to 3× |
credits_multiplier | up to 5× | up to 10× |
duration | 5–60 seconds | 5–180 seconds |
At least one multiplier (drop_rates_multiplier or credits_multiplier) must be provided. Only one flurry can be active per server at a time.
See Spawn for more on manually starting flurries.
What Happens During a Flurry
- The bot announces the flurry in the channel with the duration and spawn multiplier
- Message rewards drop at the boosted rate
- If a
credits_multiplieris set, credits awarded during the flurry are multiplied - Blacklisted and opted-out members cannot earn rewards during flurries
- At the end, the bot posts a summary:
🎉 CHAT FLURRY OVER! 🎉
Outstanding! You guys earned 2300 credits in total!
1. @UserA — 600 credits
2. @UserB — 450 credits
3. @UserC — 375 credits
Frequency
Control how often automatic flurries appear with the chat-flurries rate in /rates manage. Recommended starting point: 0.1–0.25%.
Tips
- Manual flurries work well for server events, milestones, or low-activity periods
- The leaderboard in the end-of-flurry summary drives friendly competition
- Announce a manual flurry in advance so members know to get active
Troubleshooting
Flurries never start automatically:
- Check
/rates view—chat-flurriesrate must be above 0% - Confirm at least one active channel is configured
