Quick Setup

Run /setup to walk through the initial configuration. You need the Administrator permission to use this command.

The wizard covers six steps. Each one has sensible defaults — you can always change settings later using individual commands.

Step 1: Active Channel

Choose a channel where members earn credits by chatting. Pick a public, high-traffic channel like #general or #chat.

You can add more channels later with /active-channels add.

Step 2: Drop Rates

Choose how often rewards appear. The wizard offers three presets:

  • High — rewards appear frequently
  • Balanced — moderate pace (default)
  • Low — rewards appear infrequently

These are starting points. Fine-tune individual rates later with /rates manage.

Step 3: Reward Messages

Choose whether reward notifications auto-delete after a set time. The wizard offers preset options (10s, 30s, 1 min, 5 min, 10 min, or off).

You can set any value (like 15 seconds) later with /reward-messages.

Step 4: Mod Role

Pick a role (like @Moderators or @Admins) that can run Chat Rewards management commands without needing the full Manage Server permission.

Leave this blank if you only want users with Manage Server to manage Chat Rewards.

Step 5: Logging & Alert Role

Set up a private logging channel (like #bot-logs) so all configuration changes, shop purchases, and notable events are recorded. You can have the wizard create the channel for you.

Optionally assign an alert role (like @Mods) that gets pinged for important events only — not routine logs.

The bot needs Read Messages and Send Messages in the chosen channel. Skip this step if you don't want logging, and set it up later with /logging.

Step 6: Boost Rewards

Configure boost rewards to automatically give credits to members who boost your server.

Choose a channel where boost announcements will be sent, and optionally set a custom credit amount. If you skip the amount, members receive 400–500 credits per boost by default.

System Channel Required

Boost rewards require Discord's system channel to have "Send a message when someone boosts" enabled. The wizard can configure this for you — click "Make one for me" if prompted.

You can change boost settings later with /boost-rewards.

After Setup

Members can now start chatting to earn credits. Your next step is to create shop items so members have something to spend credits on.
